An experimental-narrative animation inspired by the myth of sword casting, recorded in Chinese historical novel Wu Yue Chun Qiu (吴越春秋). From one of the versions of the myth we were told that Mo Ye (莫邪), the wife of the famous sword caster Gan Jiang (干将), threw herself into the furnace to melt the iron to make a great sword for the king.
This is a documentation of the installation of my animation熔 (Melt). It was installed in the Anderson gallery in VCUarts. Installation includes projection on a scroll of paper, with sound from a set of speakers.
